A Few Words By Coach ANDY FALK

If you're reading this, you're a fan of wrestling, and you probably know how tough it is to be a good wrestler.  It's that difficulty at being good that makes wrestling so challenging, fun, and unique from any other sport.  I've been around wrestling for 35 years now and I never get tired of watching wrestlers go from average to good to amazing.  There's only one way for a wrestler to become amazing: practice, practice, practice.

Nowadays people want quick solutions to difficult problems, but there are no quick solutions. The only solution for mediocrity is hard work, practice and a positive attitude.

Wrestlers are a unique breed of athlete. They don't get much attention from the media, there aren't many colleges that give full wrestling scholarships and there aren't any professional wrestling teams for the serious wrestler to have a career after college.  So what motivates the wrestler to bust his tail in the weight room, in the wrestling room and on the track for 4, 5, 6 or 10 years?

The answer is simple: wrestlers have pride.  They have a desire to compete that can only be expressed on a wrestling mat.  So grab your shoes, get your headgear and start stretching - it's time to wrestle.
